With generous help from The Forgotten International, Godfrey Byaruhanga, founder of Angel's Care School, renovated this building to house a new healthcare clinic. We Are RISING sent the supplies needed to make this clinic operational. Students of Angel's Care School receive healthcare at this campus facility.
Kyaka 2 Refugee Settlement Camp has a population of 141,000 people, many fleeing conflict in neighboring DR Congo. The healthcare system at Kyaka 2 is severely overburdened. That's why Pastor Godfrey Byaruhanga, founder of Angel's Care School, was determined to help meet the fast-growing need for health care services in Kyegegwa District.
Now, thanks to Providence St. Joseph Global Partnership providing the medical supplies for our first medical donation shipment, and thanks to donors who gave to ship the supplies to Angel's Care Medical Clinic in Kyaka 2, in Uganda, the shipment finally arrived ~ March 5, 2021. We also want to mention the wonderful help of DHL US for all the support to get the shipment off the ground!
Thank you Providence St. Joseph Global Partnership!
The medical supplies will help the doctor(s) and nurses provide the best level of care for patients. Malaria and AIDS are frequently seen in patients who visit the clinic. Women in pregnancy and those giving birth will also benefit - from the like-new exam tables (and other obstetrical equipment) donated by Providence St. Joseph Global Partnership.
The Angel's Care Medical Clinic will provide prescriptions at reduced cost for refugees and Ugandan nationals at Kyaka 2. They rely in large part on financial gifts from partners like We Are RISING You can help give health to students and refugees.

Wonder Afrika (formerly Guardian's Care Ministries), one of the organizations We Are R.I.S.I.N.G. partners with, was told by local authorities that they need to find a new home for the 46 kids who call Guardian's Care Children's Home "home." Thanks to an Idaho partner, GCMI made a substantial payment toward a 10-acre plot of land. AND thanks to We Are R.I.S.I.N.G. donors, survey fees, taxes and other charges, and thousands toward the purchase price was covered.
Wonder Afrika has been in their new home for 2 years and another funding partner has begun the work on Wonder Afrika's school.

Thankfully, their 2-year lease is in effect until June 30,2021. But because of security issues, overcrowding, and a lack of sufficient sanitation facilities, the police have given leadership a formal notice to move the children as soon as possible.
All the kids can to stay together as family and income projects can continue; more projects, like vegetable gardens to improve the children's health can be added. A healthcare facility is part of the plans and will serve the children and surrounding community. Plans for rebuilding the Guardian's Care Primary School on the property is now in the works.

Enough clean water for the children and the Namasengere Village
This is the dirty water hole they sourced for all the needs at Guardian's Care Primary School.
Wonder Afrika was our first partner organization in Uganda. When we met Nicholus Bubble Ssenfuma, co-founder, he requested our first project support be in the form of an enclosed well. At the time, their water source was a muddy borehole that had been dug some 40 years prior.
Nicholus and some of the 240 students had fallen ill due to the dirty water. We were able to treat the water hole until we raised sufficient funds to partner with GCMI to build a well. In June 2018 We Are R.I.S.I.N.G. installed a well at Guardians Care Primary School that even serves hundreds of members of the nearby Namasengere Village - Kapeeka sub-county. God is Good!
The government prohibited Guardian's Care Primary School from holding classes any longer at this site, due to the school's proximity to an army base. However, the Namasengere Village of Kapeeka subcounty and a local church are still able to use the well, which helps increase women's and girls' productivity, and improves their safety, and family relations.

Now we are just $9,000 short of completing the purchase by Jan. 19, 2021; After this date GCMI will be assessed a 10% fee, though the land is still theirs.

Millie's Orphanage is striving toward economic sustainability. A chicken Coop will help Millie's feed and educate the 250 children who rely on them for a chance at a healthy life and a better future. It will also help keep their teachers paid and other high-priority needs met.
Recent flooding in Kasese dumped tons of mud and debris at Millie's doorstep and threatened to wash away their classrooms. But Bishop Moses and Pastor Betty, the Bishop's wife, were able to secure a loan for clean-up. Gifts from We Are R.I.S.I.N.G. and other of Millie's supporters has helped with clean-up and keeping food on the table during this deeply distressing time.
We Are R.I.S.I.N.G. is partnering with Millie's Orphanage to build a chicken to house 600 chicks, ducks, rabbits, and guinea pigs, purchase feed and other supplies, and vaccinate the animals. A secure source of income will help them get back on their feet and get back to giving the orphaned and other vulnerable children an education - a real chance for a better future. We are half-way to completion on the project. Partnership does a whole lot of good!
Kyaka 2 Refugee Settlement Camp - Kyegegwa, Uganda - is home to over 141,000 refugees, many from neighboring DR Congo, and Ugandan nationals. Over 80% of the refugees are women and children. Angels Care Primary School, in the heart of the settlement camp, has over 900 students. For years the school relied on a few tanks around the campus to provide clean water for drinking, cooking, hand-washing, laundry, gardening and animal husbandry projects, and other various needs.
The 5,000-10,000 liter tanks were filled by water trucks that serve the settlement, but the supply was not sufficient to meet the many essential demands. In July 2019, We Are R.I.S.I.N.G., through the gifts of big-hearted, compassionate, generous people around the US, was able to partner with Angels Care Primary School to install a well, generator, and pipes. Clean water is now available for all the needs at the school, and also for the needs of many families and elderly who live near the school. God provides!
